“Appointed For Eternal Life” ( Acts 13: 39, NIV ) by Carley Evans

Here and there, as I have written before, a single verse in the Word of God presents the good news simply and directly. Paul, while preaching to the men of Israel in the synagogue at Pisidian Antioch, states:

“Through [Jesus] everyone who believes is justified from everything you could not be justified from by the law of Moses.”

Paul warns the men of Israel not to be scoffers. He tells them the truth — that he had to preach the gospel to the chosen people of God first. But, now that they “reject it and do not consider [themselves] worthy of eternal life” he turns to the Gentiles, functioning as “a light” for them. (Acts 13:46,47)

Paul knows that “all who are appointed for eternal life believe.” (Acts 13:48)

  1. Hi Carly, yes we do indeed need to believe in the name of Jesus but it is not just a word it is about His Nature, His Authority, His Unity in the Godhead or Trinity as They are called today. What does it mean to believe in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, it means we see we are sinners and in need of forgiveness and so we repent and grieve for the hurt we have inflicted on God, others and ourselves and our flesh nature is put to death as we chose to walk in Love by the empowering of The Spirit. God forgives us and tries our tears and restores us into fellowship with Him although we were always within His sight and then being conformed into the likeness of His Son we walk in newness of Life being Born again of His seed and perfected in Love.

Romans 6:20 – 23 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. What fruit had ye then in those things where of ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto Holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Thank you Carley, I’m a Story teller this is how I share God’s Truth, like the parables, but mostly my stories are based on True Life experiences, but I appreciate your direct approach, it is very encouraging and uplifting, the Scriptures have a wealth of wisdom beyond caculating when seen through Spiritual eyes, they are indeed the inspired word of God – Christian Love Anne.

  2. Thanks Anne. I’m sure that you did not mean “they” when you referred to God. The Lord our God is One! so says Israel and all the people said, “Amen!” The great paradox of the Word — God is three persons in ONE being. God bless you. Carley

  3. Hi Carly when I said They I was referring to The Godhead or Trinity as They are called today… God the Father, God The Son, who is The Living Word and God the Holy Ghost or Spirit, 3 in One, which you also said and who I was referring to because They are indeed One, meaning they have the same seed or as we call it today D.N.A they are identical in Nature.. Love etc . We were all born with the D.N.A of Adam meaning his seed but when we are Born again we have God’s seed or His Nature 1 John 3:9 but our role is different the same a husband and wife and Men and woman in the Church.

Without the Holy Spirit we can’t understand The Trinity that is why Cults can’t say Jesus is Lord in their hearts Romans 10:8-10 & 1 Corinthians 12:3 … this Lord means in the Greek, God, which Jesus is as part of the Godhead -Romans 1:19-21 – Colossians 2: 8-10 & 1 Corinthians 8:5-7 The Father has given Him all Authority in Heaven and earth and He is answerable only to The Father as the Scriptures tell us in 1 Corinthians 15:27-28 and they also tells us that God The Father and God The Son who is The Living Word John1 and God The Holy Ghost or Spirit are one. Isaiah 9:6-7

1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in Heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these Three are One.

Colossians 2: 8-10 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in Him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in Him, which is the head of all principality and power:

    Christian Love Anne,

  4. Sorry Carly, we are talking about Spiritual D.N.A not physical, The Godhead has the same seed or Nature and so do we when are born, but ours seed is from Adam we have his seed or D.N.A.meaning fallen flesh nature.

When we are Born again the old fleshy nature is gone an the new Holy Nature has come because we have God’s Spiritual seed or as some call it Spiritual D.N.A 1 John 3:9 and as you can see we no longer sin, the cannot in this verse in the Greek means absolutely never.

I hope that helps Carley, sorry I confused you, I need to make sure I define what is Spirit and what is flesh when sharing with those who have not had heard this Truth before.

    Take Care -Christian Love Anne.

  5. Sorry Carly this Scripture was not very clear…

1 John 3:9 No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God.

As we can see we no longer sin, the cannot in this verse in the Greek means absolutely never.

    Christian Love Anne

  6. Anne- here I disagree. To say we do not sin is an untruth. Christians are still frail human beings who make mistakes and miss God’s perfect mark! We are sinners saved by grace; being perfected through trials and teachings. God bless! Carley

  7. Hi Carley, as we know God asks us to be of one mind but we can’t do this if we are going to reject His Truth in His inspired word, it was not my ideas that I shared with you but what God tells us in the Scriptures, you have not given any Scriptural confirmation that we sin till we die and without it you have no foundation to reject what I have shared. I have given you many Scriptures that confirm we don’t continue to sin and there are more.

Consider don’t just reject Carley, I want very much for us to be in Unity, what you think is too hard to be True, is a wonderful gift Jesus gave us by His Sacrificial Love for us shown on the cross.

    Christian Love Anne.
