"Every day, people seek profits for the investments they make in time, in effort, in monies. Every day, some people win -- what seems to them -- "the whole world." I'm not sure Jesus equates winning the whole world with loss of one's soul. Rather, I think Jesus implies one's focus ought not to be on getting "the whole world", but on getting a relationship with Him so as to keep one's soul."
HOLDING FAST TO GOOD
“Holding fast to the good is such a map for happiness. If you see the good in the other, then you are able to bless the other even as he curses you. If you see the good in the moment, then you will not repay evil for evil. Instead you will do what is perceived as honorable to all. Such a paradox exists in the Christian walk. We walk by faith, hoping for that which is unseen. Our hope is that good will outdo evil, that perfection will triumph over imperfection, that God will be triumphant over the evil one. And of course God is triumphant and good does overcome evil. Perfection does overwhelm imperfection, and holiness swallows sin. Therefore, let your love be true.”
Thanks Katherine and Edilio.
maybe you could put excerpts on your blog so it’s easy to see how good it is before going to Amazon/Smashwords?
Actually I wrote the entire novel online, then published it. Of course, at that time, I took the “rough” draft down. I’ve thought about putting up a preview on my e-Store.
I’m thinking…
I decided to do that very thing! Thanks.
I’m sure this is a big learning experience Carley. I think it’s a good thing that you’re advertising with all the media sources at your disposal. BTW… My copy came Friday! Hoo-rah (I’m told that’s Greek)! Looking forward to hearing good reports friend… God bless.
Thanks Michael — you might be surprised. I dropped my novel off at a local artsy bookstore downtown Charleston (Blue Bicycle Books on King Street) to give it to them to read. Instead I discovered they take books ‘on consignment’ so that MMW will wind up far in the back of the store with other ‘consignment’ books. The chances of anyone seeing it are slim at best. Ah well; and on top of that, the store ‘pays’ in discounts on their books! Ho ho ho. I sold one at Waffle House on Saturday night to a waitress who expressed interest in a proof I was carrying and yes — talking about. I’ve found out I don’t mind shouting to the rooftops “I’ve published a novel. Here it is! It’s good. Read it, please. Buy it, please.” I feel like a crazy lady! At any rate, I’m looking forward to your opinion as the novel has changed somewhat; and hopefully grown. Best blessings, dear friend. Carley
Thanks Jeff. I really do hope you’ll buy a copy, read it, and review it. Right now, it’s pretty “cheap” on Amazon.com. Or you can buy it direct from my e-store at: https://www.createspace.com/3843640
I’d so appreciate it. Carley
