“Living And Active” (Hebrews 1: 1 -2, ESV) by Carley Evans

God speaks to us now through His Son, through the Word who was with God at the beginning and “through whom also He created the world.”

Here it is again — Great truths are worth repeating! God speaks to us through His Word, who was made flesh so as to live among us, who also now lives in us as the Holy Spirit.

God once spoke to us through prophets. Now He speaks to us directly through His Son, who is the Word. Having been made flesh and blood, naturally “the Word of God is living and active.” (Hebrews 4: 12)

The Word is “living and abiding.” (1 Peter 1: 23) The Word is alive and permanent. He sits at the right hand of God the Father, always alive and ready to intercede, to say a good Word on our behalf:

“Yes, Father, I know she failed You. Yes, it’s true she did the same thing yesterday. But, remember dear Father, I paid for that failure already. It’s taken off the record. Thank You, Father God for forgiving and once again, forgetting.”
